For over 15 years the US Army Corps of Engineers has contracted with us to hydraulically dredge the Illinois Waterway. The Illinois Waterway is a federal water duct used for importing and exporting grain and other goods, so it’s important that it be regularly dredged to the proper depths. We layout the dredge cut, take pre-dredge soundings, prepare dredge material placement sites, dredge the cut, place the dredged materials, pump water from the dredged material placement site, and take post-dredge soundings. Some placement sites are only accessible by water, and others are only accessible by land.
